pin.it Link Not Working
pin.it is Pinterest’s own short link. Most pin.it failures come from a copied link that is incomplete, wrapped in other text, or pointing at something that is no longer public.
How pin.it resolving works here
When you paste a pin.it link, GoPinSave follows it manually, at most two steps, and checks every step: the destination must still belong to Pinterest. If a redirect ever points outside Pinterest, the tool stops there instead of following it blindly. That two-step limit and host check exist to keep short links safe — they also mean a pin.it link that chains through extra redirects will not resolve, by design.
Fix it step by step
- Copy the pin.it link again, alone — no caption, hashtag, or trailing space around it.
- Paste it into the video downloader and press Download.
- If it still fails, open the link in your browser first: if the browser lands on a real public pin, copy that full pinterest.com link instead and paste that.
- If the browser lands on a login wall or a “not found” page, the pin is private or deleted, and no tool can open it.
Expected result: the preview loads the correct pin’s media. If the browser itself cannot open the pin, the tool cannot either.
Still not working?
Check that the link is complete — a pin.it code cut short by a chat app will never resolve. Also confirm the pin is public. If both are fine and the preview still fails, wait a few minutes and retry; Pinterest sometimes blocks a busy server temporarily.
Frequently asked questions
What is a pin.it link?
It is Pinterest’s short link for a pin. GoPinSave resolves it to the original pin before doing anything else.
Why does my pin.it link open the wrong pin?
That usually means the copied text included extra characters, or the short link was truncated. Copy the link again, alone, and retry.
Does GoPinSave follow pin.it links automatically?
Yes, up to two redirect steps, with a host check at every step. Redirects leaving Pinterest are not followed.
